Latin Jazz CollectiveCharleston Latin Jazz Collective
The Charleston Latin Jazz Collective is a group deeply rooted in traditional jazz and traditional Cuban music. With three horn players and an all-star rhythm section, this group brings authentic Cuban grooves combined with jazz standards to create a fresh sound that is exciting and fun. Band Members: Gino Castillo – congas and vocals, John Cobb – bari sax, Gerald Gregory – piano, David Heywood – flute and percussion, Jake Holwegner – bass, Charlton Singleton – piano and vocals, Ron Wiltrout – drums, percussion, and vocals.

 

 

Unit FourUnit Four
Unit Four is an original jazz-fusion group from Charleston, South Carolina. Formed in 2012 and taking inspiration from artists like Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Soulive, and others, Unit Four blends elements of modern and classic jazz, funk, and rock to create a unique sound that straddles the line of these genres, maintaining a solid groove throughout. Band Members: Adam Gould – guitar, Dan Voss – saxophone, Jake Stoudenmire – bass, Stephen Heyward – drums.

 

 

 


Kevin Patton QuartetKevin Patton Quartet

Best described as “soulful jazz,” the Kevin Patton Quartet is made up of graduates from the College of Charleston who find a balance between technical mastery and soulful exploration in their performances. They can often be seen at Charleston’s churches and religious events bringing people together through music. Band Members: Kevin Patton – saxophone, Brett Belanger – bass, Brandon Brooks – drums, Manny Houston – piano.

 

 

 

 

 

Mark Sterbank/Robert Lewis QuintetRobert Lewis Quintet Collage Robert Lewis, Director of Jazz Studies at the College of Charleston, and Mark Sterbank, Director of Jazz Studies at Charleston Southern University, go toe-to-toe as they bring to life the classic album Cannonball and Coltrane. Don’t miss this fiery battle between two of the best saxophonists in South Carolina, playing the music of two of the best saxophonists ever! Band Members: Robert Lewis – alto saxophone, Mark Sterbank – tenor saxophone, Quentin Baxter – drums, Gerald Gregory – piano.
